Bill Mulliken

When asked how he beat the favorite Japanese competitor in the 1960 Olympics held in Rome, Bill replied, “At the 150-meter mark during the semi-final, I was struck by the `light of Zeus’.”  Effortlessly, he “walked across the finish” in 2:37.2, an American and Olympic record.
