    • Qualified and swam in the 1964 Olympic Trials while he was a student student at Fenwick High School.
    • Earned All-American Honors while swimming at University of Minnesota
    • Set FINA Masters World Records in 400 IM and 1500
    • Set USMS records in 400 IM, 1500 and 1650
    • Had 30 USMS All-American swims
Open Water Achievements
  • Competed in the Big Shoulders 5K Open Water Swim 31 years in a row
  • Won the event in 1993 and 1995 at the ages of 45 and 47
  • Enjoyed swimming with friends at Promitory Point 

George’s Code of Conduct

George lived his life by the Seven Virtures: Prudence, Justice, Temperance, Fortitude, Faith, Hope and Charity. He began his career as a high school english teacher emulating these virtures to his students. He later taught this to his children and grandchildren. If you knew him, he would always greet you with a smile and give you an encouraging word.
